The Pillar Procedure is for treating appropriate patients with snoring or mild sleep apnea. It is not recommended for severe sleep apnea. This is a minimally invasive treatment which can be performed in the office without loss of work or need for general anesthesia. It involves inserting permanent stiffening rods into the palate. These rods make the palate less “floppy” which decreases or cures snoring.
